What's an NFT?
An NFT i.e. “A Non-fungible token” is a digital item that anyone can buy, sell or trade. Sometimes the NFT is a piece of art, sometimes its a membership and in our case it is both! Once you own an NFT you can sell it any time.
How will you use the IlluminationNFT sale proceeds?
Illumination Art Festival is a 501(c)3 registered non-profit that does not draw salaries for its members. ALL proceeds will go to:
Funding artists to create incredible new light artworks.
Infrastructure, security, and clean-up for the festival.
Marketing, and community development
Legal and account
New art initiatives as approved by the DAO.
Who much is an Illumination NFT membership?
An Illumination Membership costs .05ETH (~$150) to mint plus gas fees ($3-5).

What is Illumination?
Illumination funds artists to create brilliant and dazzling light art pieces that the whole family can enjoy. The festival is a combination of light, art, music and costuming that currently takes place in New York City with the hopes of expanding to other cities across America. Our focus is to curate & fund the best and brightest artists to create spectacular works for you to enjoy.
When and where is Illumination?
Illumination 22’ will be held at Under the K Bridge Park in Brooklyn on October 7-9th 2022. Our goal is to have the event take place there for many years to come and to expand into other cities once we build up a stable of art works.
What is Illumination NFT?
IlluminatioNFT is Illumination’s first NFT collection. Our mission has always been to create a community festival that provides light-based technological wonders to its attendees. What we realize now is that it is also an incredible pipeline for empowering artists to create brand new works that they can showcase at the event. In our first year we had multiple grants directly from New York City to help artists create some of their largest works to date. With your help we can expand our grant program to enable 100’s and eventually 1000’s of artists to build complex, large-scale works that can make a huge impact on those who come to see these pieces. Artists need time and money to be able to build intricate and immense works of art, together we can give these artists what they need to do so. By owning an Illuminationft you become immediately part of the Illumination community to help build out the festival and fund a whole new generation of artists working in the medium of light.

Why NFT's?
Since we first started thinking about the Illumination Light Art Festival we have always thought of it as a community first festival. During our first event last year, thousands of you attended and transformed the Under the K Bridge Park into an immersive wonderland of light and art. We want to work with you to take this event to the next level and co-create a utopia of light and art that will mesmerise New Yorkers and other cities in the future.
What’s special about this NFT Collection?
Illumination’s NFT’s have been designed by Robert Montengero, Illumination’s creative director, who’s works have been featured all over the world including at Pines Party, the Box, Party on the Pier, and The Acquisitions Gala at the Met. The NFT’s come in different levels each with different access through the smart contract attached to the art piece that you acquire. By owning the NFT you are instantly part of our community helping us make decisions and enabling hundreds or artists to make their dreams a reality.

5,555 Illumination Memberships will be available.
How long does the Illumination Membership last?
The membership lasts as long as you continue to own the NFT. Only Illumination NFT holders will have access to the NFT Holders lounge and the power to vote on which artists receive grants.
What is your grant program?
Through the support of the community that purchases an Illumination NFT we are launching a grant program to fund new artist’s works. For Illumination 22’ we will have a $50,000 grant program to fund 15 artists works. Illumination NFT holders will be able vote on which artists receive the grants to build new and inspired light based art!
In future years we hope to expand this grant program to include even more artists.
Can you have multiple Illumination NFT’s?
Yes! You can buy as many as you like. Additional tickets to the festival can be purchased online.
Will the NFTs be sold on open marketplaces?
Primary sales of IlluminationFTs will be on Illumination.nyc. IlluminationFT tokens will appear on secondary marketplaces like OpenSea and Rarible etc. for resale purchase.
Can I resell my IlluminationFT?
Yes. IlluminationFT tokens can be resold on NFT marketplaces such as OpenSea and Rarible etc. If an IlluminationFT is resold, Illumination recieves a 10% share of the sale.
Are all the tokens the same?
Yes! All Illumination NFT holders receive the same benefits and perks.
