CHRYSALIS
By: Robert Montenegro
Part sculpture, part video canvas, Chrysalis explores the concept of transformation via a 4 sided pyramid + video animation. The unique pyramid design is open on one corner and provides an internal perspective to the metamorphosis displayed on its surface. Two video pieces have been created for Chrysalis, one on the theme of transformation was created by Chrysalis designer Robert Montenegro is titled Birth of Chrysalis, and the other titled Transmission was created by Tristan Fuge and imagines a future experience of traveling from home via computer simulations. The Chrysalis piece is a fusion of art, engineering, design, and teamwork with the intention of bringing joy and beauty to those in its presence.
Thank you to the Chrysalis build team: Nathan Morgan, Matt Tully, Mike Chapman, and Tristan Fuge.
